What should I wear for my application photo?

There is no rule that applies to everyone for application photos.
However, we can already give you a few tips.

Feel comfortable

You should look confident in an application photo.
This works best if you wear clothes that suit you.
Of course, we don’t necessarily mean comfortable. It should be chic.
But if you think: “I’d never wear that otherwise”, take another look in your wardrobe to see if you have something you feel more comfortable in that is still chic.

Slightly overdressed

There is a kind of golden rule when choosing clothes, which we have learned after many application photos and in conversation with many HR managers:
Dress in such a way that your new colleagues would perceive you as smart but not inappropriately dressed.

Make-up for application photos

There are basically two golden rules for make-up for application photos: Less is more and feel comfortable.

Subtle make-up is best. Then people can see more of you and how you are.
After all, your future employer is interested in you and not in your make-up skills.
With the exception of the beauty industry, of course.

But if you feel comfortable with more make-up, don’t limit yourself.
Then your make-up belongs to you and the pictures will show when you feel good.

It’s best to leave out shiny creams and use a little more powder than normal. Then you won’t look shiny in your photos.
You can also bring your powder to the shoot.

What makes our application photos special

Advice

An application photo must suit both you and your dream job. That’s why we are happy to advise you in advance on your outfit and/or make-up. Our studio in Bochum offers a wide range of photo backgrounds. We will advise you on the right background and are always up to date with the latest trends and requirements for application photos.

The right mix

The best application photos radiate a mixture of competence and sympathy. That’s why we find out during the shoot which poses suit you best to create exactly this impression.

Selection

With us, you don’t just have 2-3 pictures to choose from after your shoot, but always at least 20 – starting from the cheapest shoot package. After the shoot, we will pick out your favorites together with you and in the end you will have exactly the application photo you want.
From the Plus application shoot onwards, you even have the option of bringing several outfits with you if you wish.

Are costs for application photos
reimbursed by the employment agency?

Yes, they will. Contact your customer advisor at the employment agency or job center and find out how much the costs will be covered. The costs for application photos are often covered even in the case of imminent unemployment. You can try to get the costs of a premium application photo shoot reimbursed first. We charge €69 for this. If that doesn’t work, you can still try to get a Plus application photo shoot for €39 or a Standard application photo shoot for €24.99.
You can also mention that you will only get one photo for the smallest application photo shoot and that you would like to apply to a wide range of employers.

At the end of your photo shoot, we will give you your photos and a receipt. You can use the latter to have the costs reimbursed. Please note: Remember to ask the ARGE or Jobcenter in advance how much the costs will be reimbursed.
